"Strikeforce at the Dome" Final Card and Betting Odds

 |

Strikeforce is invading the Tacoma Dome on Saturday night. The event features ten fights on the card, and there are currently five fights available for betting.
The main event will feature a match-up between two absolute monsters. You have 6'11, 330 pounds Jan "The Giant" Nortje taking on Bob "The Beast" Sapp, who actually has a twenty pound weight advantage over the hulking Jan Nortje. Sapp will be fighting with the hometown crowd behind his back. Bob "The Beast" Sapp currently has a professional MMA record of 8-2-1, while Nortje is a slightly less impressive 25-17. Sapp is a heavy favorite in this fight, as Vegas currently has him listed at -600 to win, while Nortje is +450 to win. This means that if you bet $100 on Nortje to win, you would take home $450 in profits if he managed to topple Sapp.
The rest of the match-ups on the card are quite a bit closer. First off, we have Rick "The Jet" Roufus taking on Maurice "Big Mo" Smith. This is going to be Roufus's first professional MMA fight, although he still has a rich fighting background. Smith has a 10-10 record lifetime in MMA fighting and is considerably older than Roufus. Even with his unimpressive record, Maurice Smith is a large favorite in this fight (-300). Roufus is currently listed at +240 to win. Smith is another fighter who will have the hometown crowd behind his back.
Lyle Beerbohm is taking on Ray "Relentless" Perales in the closest match-up of the night. Beerbohm has a perfect 13-0 professional record compared to the extremely unimpressive 9-13 record of Perales. Still, Vegas has Beerbohm as a +115 underdog heading into this match-up. Maybe Vegas knows something about this match-up that we don't? Beerbohm sure seems like good value in this match-up to us.
Next, we have "Fast" Eddy Ellis taking on Steve "The Red Nosed Pitbull" Berger. Berger is a strong favorite in this match-up (-215) while Ellis is the underdog (+175). Berger has a lifetime record of 20-17-2 and fights in a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu style, while Eddy Ellis has a lifetime record of 12-14-1.
Lastly, in another big match-up, we have Joe "Diesel" Riggs taking on Cory "The One" Devela. Devela will have the hometown crowd behind his back as he enters into this tough bout with Riggs. Riggs has a lifetime record of 27-9 and is a big favorite in this match-up (-300). Devela has an equally impressive record of 12-2 and is a big underdog (+240). Will the hometown crowd be enough to overcome the experience of Joe Riggs?
Here are the other match-ups that are on the card but aren't available for wagering:
Ryan "Diamond" Healy vs Jorge "Gamebred" Masvidal
Josh Bennett vs Mychal "Bolo" Clark
Zach "Skin Dog" Skinner vs Scott Shaffer
Nathan Coy vs Dave Courchaine
Matt Kovac vs Mike "300" Hayes
