UFC 82 Results - Anderson "Spider" Silva Beats Dan Henderson

Anderson "Spider" Silva continued to lay claim to the title as best pound-for-pound fighter in the world as he overcame PRIDE champion Dan Henderson to claim the middleweight championship at UFC 82.

Silva submitted Henderson via rear-naked choke near the end of the second round after rocking Henderson with a left knee that surprised Henderson and gave the momentum to the "Spider". Silva then took Henderson to the ground, where he latched on a body lock and eventually a rear-naked choke for the victory.

Here are the results of the rest of the fights on the card:

Heath Herring Defeated Cheick Kongo via Split Decision

Chris Leben Defeated Alessio Sakara via Knockout in the first round

Yushin Okami Defeated Evan Tanner via Knockout in the second round

Jon Fitch Defeated Chris Wilson via Unanimous Decision

Andrei Arlovski Defeated Jake O'Brien via Knockout in the Second Round

Luigi Fioravanti Defeated Luke Cummo via Unanimous Decision

Josh Koscheck Defeated Dustin Hazelett via Knockout in the first round

Diego Sanchez Defeated David Bielkheden via Knockout in the First Round

Jorge Gurgel Defeated John Halverson via Unanimous Decision

All in all, this was another great event that was put on by the UFC. The "dream" matchup between Silva and Henderson has cemented Silva's status as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, and it will be interesting to see who he lines up to fight next.
