Full Heiwa DREAM Card Announced for March 15th Event

 |

There are currently ten fights on the Dream 1 card which is slated to take place on March 15th at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama. This event will mark the debut of Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic who just recently made the jump from the UFC.
"Cro Cop" will be taking on Tatsuya Mizuno in the main event of the card. Odds for this bout haven't been released as of yet, but you would have to figure that "Cro Cop" will be your odds-on favorite to win.
Hayato Sakurai will be taking on Hidetaka Monma in the match which is receiving the second highest billing on the card. Sakurai is a huge -800 favorite, meaning that you would need to wager $800 on Sakurai to win $100 in total profit. Monma is a massive +500 underdog.
Ikuhisa Minowa will be appearing on the card as well, but his opponent has not yet been named at this time.
There are a number of "tournament" bouts taking place at this event. The event will pit some of the top lightweight fighters in the world, including Gesias Calvancante and Shinya Aoki. The tournament will be called the "Lightweight Grand Prix Tournament."
Bodog has odds currently posted for the winner of the entire event, plus odds on the individual first round match-ups.
The odds-on favorite to take down the event is Shinya Aoki, who is currently listed at 3/1 to win. He is closely followed by Gesias Calvancante, who is listed at 16/5 to win the event.
Here are the odds for each first-round matchup:
Gesias Calvancante (-175) vs Shinya Aoki (+145)
Tatsuya Kawajiri (-850) vs Kultar Gill (+550)
Mitsuhiro Ishida (-1100) vs Bu Kyung Jung (+600)
Luiz Buscape Firmino (-240) vs Kazuyuki Miyata (+190)
Andre Dida Amade (-135) vs Eddie Alvarez (+105)
Artur Oumakhanov (-185) vs Katsuhiko Nagata (+155)
Joachim Hansen (-200) vs Kotetsu Boku (+160)
I find it strange that even though Shinya Aoki is the odds-on favorite to win this event, Calvancante is the favorite to win the first round match-up between the two. If you ask me, Calvancante is the man to beat in this tournament. We have Calvancante as the 11th or 12th best pound for pound fighter in the world, so how could we not pick him to win this tournament?
