Kurt Angle a Force in MMA? I Don't Think So

If you listen to Kurt Angle and believe what he says then he would be a dominant force in the UFC, easily cutting a path through opponents such as Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz.

I have nothing but respect for Kurt Angle, and believe he's a fabulous athlete. However, I believe that he would be best served staying away from the UFC. Also, I think that he should stop running his mouth about people such as Ortiz or Liddell, as I believe that both would easy beat Angle in a Mixed Martial Arts match.

Angle has been contemplating a jump to Mixed Martial Arts seemingly forever. In case you don't know who Kurt Angle is, he is a former WWE star and currently wrestles in TNA. He is an Olympic gold medalist in wrestling, having won the gold medal in heavyweight freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia.

There are a number of things working against Angle in terms of being a MMA star:

1. He's old. He's currently 39 years old and not getting any younger.

2. His body has taken a beating. Multiple neck and shoulder injuries that have led to multiple neck and shoulder surgeries. His body has a lot of wear and tear.

3. He can't put in the training that he needs to under his current schedule. Train for Mixed Martial Arts and maintain a full-time wrestling schedule? No way. Brock Lesnar dedicated years of his life to training for his MMA debut, without any other obligations. Angle needs to do the same if he wants to have a fighting chance.

Angle has run his mouth quite a bit about what he would do if he were in the UFC, and who he would beat. Don't believe me? You can hear some of his interviews on Youtube where he talks about Liddell, Ortiz and others. I think that he would be best served keeping his mouth shut and continuing to wrestle in TNA, as I don't think that he would stand much of a chance against the top fighters in the UFC.
