Affliction Adds Donald Trump as an Equity Partner
 |

On Thursday, the management of the "Affliction" brand will be announcing that Donald Trump has been added as an equity partner in the company. Trump himself will then announce that the company has retained the services of Andrei Arlovski, a top MMA heavyweight.
Donald Trump is the second multi-billionaire to get involved in Mixed Martial Arts in the past year. Mark Cuban is a big advocate of the sport, and has aired numerous MMA events on HDNet.
Trump's involvement in the company will immediately pay dividends. He has the type of extremely deep pockets that can help keep the new promotion afloat while they build up a fan-base and sign some high-priced talent.
In addition to that, Trump owns multiple casinos that could potentially host future Affliction brand events.
Trump also likely has the ear of some executives at NBC, which could potentially result in Affliction being aired on the network sometime in the future. Speaking of NBC, Tito Ortiz recently appeared on a celebrity version of the "Apprentice", and both men seem to have some mutual admiration for one another. Ortiz has already said that he will be attending the July Affliction show (as a fan). Trump's involvement in the company could be the clincher towards getting the "Huntington Beach Bad Boy" signed to a deal. Ortiz's involvement in the company would certainly help in introducing the product to the masses. Although he is on the downside of his career, Ortiz is still an extremely popular fighter.
Trump's involvement with Affliction will give the company plenty of press and unlimited backing. Dana White surely can't be too happy about this development.
