Nate Diaz to Fight Josh Neer at Ultimate Fight Night 14

Fighters.com (link below) reported earlier today that Nathan Diaz will be taking on Josh Neer at Ultimate Fight Night 14, which will be taking place on September 17th. The fight was officially announced by the manager and trainer of Nate Diaz, Cesar Gracie.

Nate Diaz currently has a professional lifetime mixed martial arts record of 9-2-0. Two of his victories have come via knockouts, and the remainder have come via submission. Diaz is a staple of the UFC's "Fight Night" events, having fought in the last three straight. Since entering the UFC, Diaz has won all four of his fights. He burst onto the scene in the fifth season of the Ultimate Fighter, defeating Manvel Gamburyan in the final after Gamburyan injured his shoulder.

Since then, Diaz has gone on to beat the likes of Kurt Pellegrino, Alvin Robinson and Junior Assuncao in his last three UFC matches. Diaz has won all three fights in a convincing fashion - only the Pellegrino fight made it past the first round. Diaz is extremely good on the ground, and should give Josh Neer all that he can handle.

Ten of his victories have come via knockouts, ten have come via submission and the rest have been decided by decisions. Neer has won his last three fights, with the most recent being a unanimous decision victory over Din Thomas at UFC - Fight Night 13. Previous to that, Neer has won six of his last seven fights, with none of the bouts lasting past the first round.

Neer has fought an impressive list of opponents over his career, including: Nick Diaz (Neer lost via Kimura at UFC 62), Josh Burkman (unanimous decision loss at UFC 61), Joe Stevenson (unanimous decision victory at UFC - Ultimate Fight Night 4) and Drew Fickett (lost via rear naked choke at UFC - Ultimate Fight Night).

This should be an entertaining fight. Neer will be looking to avoid having the distinction of losing to both Diaz brothers (Nick Diaz defeated Neer at UFC 62).
