More Legal Troubles For Quinton "Rampage" Jackson?

MMA Weekly (link below) is reporting that the legal troubles for former UFC light heavyweight champion, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, may be about to take a turn for the worse.

According to MMA Weekly, an article in the Daily Pilot newspaper claimed that a woman who was involved in Jackson's "rampage" in July had a miscarriage. According to the article, Holly Griggs was driving her Cadillac Escalade along the 55 Freeway when Jackson sideswiped her. This was just one of the cars that Jackson crashed into during his dramatic car chase. Griggs, who was pregnant at the time, was injured in the crash.

Jackson was extremely lucky (at the time) in that no one was seriously injured or killed during his chase. This may all have changed with the news that Holly Griggs miscarried her baby. According to the article, prosecutors have not yet filed formal charges against Jackson. If the prosecutors in the case can prove that Mrs. Griggs miscarried as a result of the crash, then Jackson could be facing additional, more serious charges.

The article goes on to say that the couple have retained legal counsel but have not yet filed any "official" actions against Jackson. It sounds as though this incident could result in both jail time and expensive lawsuits for "Rampage".

This has been a trying last month for Jackson.

First he dropped the light heavyweight title to Forrest Griffin at UFC 86 in early July.

Then, just a few days later, Jackson was arrested after leading police on a mid-afternoon chase that resulted in a number of damaged vehicles and an embarrassing, highly-publicized arrest for the former champion. Jackson was charged with a number of different offenses and had to be bailed out by Dana White, president of the UFC.

Then, just a short time later, Jackson was admitted to a mental health facility after making "alarming" statements and exhibiting some "unusual" behavior. Due to state confidentiality laws, Jackson's current status is unknown.

Some people are already speculating that Jackson will fight Wanderlei Silva sometime in the fall. I see zero chance of that happening - Jackson needs to focus on getting his life back in order first, and then he can think about stepping back intot he Octagon.
