Todd Beard and Randy Couture Have a Very Public Falling-Out

As if Randy Couture doesn't have enough to worry about right now. He is slated to defend his UFC heavyweight title this Saturday against a hulking behemoth of a man in Brock Lesnar, and now he has to deal with Todd Beard as well.

TMZ.com reported earlier today that Kim and Randy Couture had filed a restraining order against Todd Beard. Beard is the president of Affliction, which is the company that distributes the "Xtreme Couture" line of clothing. Affliction also runs a rival MMA promotion that includes the likes of Fedor, Arlovski and Tim Sylvia.

The relationship between Couture and Affliction went south when Couture re-signed with the UFC. I'm assuming that Affliction (and especially Beard) took this as a slap in the face, especially after the UFC had banned their fighters from wearing Affliction clothing to the Octagon.

Beard recently took to the airwaves, saying that he hoped that Lesnar would knock out Couture at UFC 91.

This led Couture to respond publicly to Beard's comments, saying that the president of Affliction had a history of erratic behavior and that their relationship was not salvagable.

This restraining order reportedly came after Beard initiated a "series of threats and acts intended to intimidate" Kim Couture, who officially runs Xtreme Couture. Beard reportedly erupted after Kim and Randy asked for a "full accounting of the profits" that Xtreme Couture had generated.

The restraining order is temporary and will prohibit Beard from going anywhere near Kim Couture. This also means that Beard can't go to the UFC 91 fight at the MGM Grand, or the weigh-in on Friday.

Kim Couture went on to say that "my fear of Mr. Beard is well-founded given his extensive criminal history", and that "he has engaged in numerous acts of violence, including violence against women."

This situation doesn't speak well of Todd Beard's mental well-being - how crazy do you have to be to threaten the wife of the current UFC heavyweight champion?
