Travis Fulton Has a Lifetime Professional Record of 189-45-10
 |

There are a number of fighters that have extremely impressive lifetime records. Fedor Emelianenko. Dan Severn. Sean Sherk. Jeremy Horn. Rashad Evans. The list goes on and on.
However, let me introduce you to Travis "The Ironman" Fulton.
Travis fought his first professional MMA fight back in July of 1996. He lost to Dave Strasser by rear naked choke in the first round of their fight at Gladiators 1.
Since then, Fulton has fought in over 200 MORE professional mixed martial arts fights. Fulton has compiled an absolutely unbelievable lifetime professional record of 189-45-10. That is 244 professional bouts that "The Ironman" has participated in. No wonder he calls himself "The Ironman."
There are many things that can derail a professional mixed martial artist's career. Injuries. A desire to change professions. A lack of passion for the sport. Drugs or alcohol. All of these things can conspire to shorten a fighter's career.
Travis Fulton is a big guy. He's 6'0, 240 pounds. For his body to hold up over 200 professional fights is just amazing.
Fulton seems to take any fight that is offered to him, regardless of when he fought last. Most professional fighters will go months in between fights. There are numerous instances in Fulton's career where he fought more than once in the same week. In September of 2006, Fulton fought on September 2nd, September 3rd and September 9th. All three fights were victories for Fulton, all three fights were stopped in the first round and all three fights were for different promotions.
Here are some more unbelievable facts and figures from Fulton's career:
-of the 244 professional fights, only 20 have gone to a decision
-of the 244 fights, only one ended up in a No Contest
-60 of Fulton's wins came by TKO
-122 of his victories came via submission, with the rest (six) coming via decision
-Fulton has only been knocked out FOUR times during his career
-Fulton has lost to submission 25 times, and has lost via decision 14 times
-Fulton fought the same guy (Dan Wheatley) three times in a month, winning all three fights by knockout
-Travis has also fought 34 boxing matches since 1999, compiling a record of 15-19
-Fulton has fought some top-notch talent over the years, including: Renato Sobral, Rich Franklin, Forrest Griffin and Heath Herring
-fought his first professional fight at the age of 18
The craziest part of all - Fulton is only 31 years old.
