Phillipe Nover vs Efrain Escudero In The Main Event
 |

The finale of the eighth season of "The Ultimate Fighter" will be taking place live on Spike TV this Saturday night (December 13th).
Betting odds have now been released by Bookmaker.com, and to nobody's surprise, Phillipe Nover and Vinicius "Vinnie" Magalhaes are favorites to win the lightweight and light heavyweight contracts.
Phillipe Nover opened up as a big favorite for his fight against Efrain Escudero, and money has continued to pour in on him since the line opened. Phillipe Nover is now a -400 favorite at Bookmaker.com, while Escudero is a +300 underdog.
This means that a successful $400 wager on Nover would yield a total profit of $100, while a successful $100 wager on Escudero would yield a total of $300.
Nover is the beneficiary of a huge amount of hype, ever since Dana White proclaimed that Nover could be the next Georges St. Pierre. Nover easily dispatched of his opponents during the preliminary rounds of the show, and many feel as though he will roll over Escudero on Saturday.
Escudero has never been beaten during his professional career, and currently sports a record of 10-0.
"Vinnie" Magalhaes and Ryan Bader will square off in the other final. This fight is drawing significantly less attention that the Escudero/Nover fight, which is the main event of the card. Many people feel that Bader's style of fighting is boring, and that this will be a significantly less exciting tilt than the Nover fight.
Magalhaes is currently a -165 favorite to win, while Bader is a +135 underdog.
Magalhaes is a master on the ground, so Bader's gameplan will obviously be to keep the fight standing.
Since the line opened, Magalhaes has become an even bigger favorite to win, so clearly most people doubt that Bader can pull off a victory against "Vinnie".
After that, there are a few fights that don't involve participants of the eighth season of the "Ultimate Fighter". They are:
Kevin Burns, +200
Anthony Johnson, -250
Jason MacDonald, +105
Wilson Gouveia, -135
The Burns/Johnson fight will be particularly interesting, as this will be a rematch of their highly controversial fight from earlier this year. If you'll remember, Johnson received a vicious poke in the eye and couldn't continue the fight - the ref determined that Burns won by TKO. The decision was appealed and ultimately upheld. Johnson is a big -250 favorite to win.
In the last fight on the main card, you have resident bad-boy Junie Browning taking on Dave Kaplan. Browning, by all accounts, has gotten his life together since appearing on the show. Browning is currently a -400 favorite to win. Kaplan, on the other hand, is currently listed at +300. Many people expect that the UFC will offer Browning a contract if he wins on Saturday.
Here are the current betting odds for the five fights on the undercard:
Shane Primm, +275
Krzysztof Soszynski, -345
Jules Bruchez, +450
Eliot Marshall, -600
Tom Lawlor, -105
Kyle Kingsbury, -125
Shane Nelson, -110
George Roop, -120
Rolando Delgado, -105
John Polakowski, -125
