Fedor Emelianenko vs Andrei Arlovski Betting Odds Now Available
 |

5Dimes is one of the first books to have released odds for the upcoming Andrei Arlovski vs Fedor Emelianenko fight on January 24th. This fight is set to headline the second Affliction card, which will be taking place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Does Andrei Arlovski stand a chance in this fight? The current line for this fight would seem to say - probably not.
Fedor Emelianenko currently sits as a -475 favorite to win this fight, while Andrei Arlovski stands as a +325 underdog.
This means that you would need to wager $475 on Fedor in order to win $100 of profit back, while a successful $100 wager on Arlovski would yield a total profit of $325.
Fedor Emelianenko is considered by many to be the top pound-for-pound fighter in the world. If he isn't first on your list, then he is probably second behind Anderson Silva.
His legend was furthered by a quick 36 second thrashing against Tim Sylvia at Affliction: "Banned". Sylvia was a former UFC champion who gave a number of the best fighters in the world a hard time, and Fedor dispatched of him as if he were a piece of garbage. This was the first opportunity for many casual fans to see Fedor in action, and he didn't disappoint.
Fedor has a lifetime record of 28-1-0. His only "loss" wasn't really a loss at all - he was fighting in a tournament and cut open by an illegal elbow. The ref stopped the fight, but Fedor was unable to continue in the tournament due to the cut. So even though Fedor was hit by an illegal elbow just 17 seconds into the fight, he was forced to take the first loss of his career.
During his career, Fedor has beaten some of the best fighters in the world, including: Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Mirko Filipovic and Heath Herring.
Andrei Arlovski is another former UFC heavyweight champion that is stepping into the ring against Fedor. He has a lifetime professional record of 14-5-0, with ten of his victories coming via knockout. Arlovski's most recent victory came against Roy Nelson at EliteXC - "Heat", when he stopped his rotund opponent at 3:14 of the second round.
Prior to that, Arlovski had victories against Ben Rothwell, Fabricio Werdum and Tim Sylvia.
Arlovski lost two straight fights against Tim Sylvia in 2006, which might not bode too well for him in this fight (considering that Fedor destroyed Sylvia).
The line has moved a bit in Arlovski's favor since being released - however, I would expect Fedor to continue to be a very big favorite in this fight in the weeks leading up to their tilt.
