Will Alistair Overeem Make the Jump to a Major North American Promotion?

Dreamfighters (link below) posted an interesting interview with Alistair Overeem earlier today. The interview was conducted just after Overeem's emphatic victory over Badr Hari at Fields Dynamite!! 2008.

It is no secret that many people want to see Overeem in either the UFC or Affliction. Overeem is one of the most dynamic and talented heavyweights in the world, and there are many matches that fans would like to see Overeem be a part of. Overeem vs Lesnar. Overeem vs Emelianenko. The list goes on and on.

Anyways, in his interview with Dreamfighters, Overeem revealed a couple of interesting details:

1. He might "visit" the UFC in Ireland for UFC 93.
2. His management has been in contact with the UFC and Affliction.

Maybe this is just wishful thinking or posturing on the part of Overeem. However, the fact remains that Overeem would be a tremendous addition to either the UFC or Affliction, and as a fan, I hope that he signs with either promotion. Overeem would add to an already rapidly expanding talent base in the heavyweight division of the UFC. Let's hope that something positive happens between the two organizations.

Overeem has fought many top names during his career, including the likes of Chuck Liddell, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Vitor Belfort and Sergei Kharitonov.

Will Fedor or Lesnar soon be added to this list? One can only hope.
