Dana White Sounds Off After UFC 94
 |

SI.com (Sports Illustrated, link below) published an interesting article this morning.
Tom Hamlin, the author of the article, managed to catch up with an exhausted Dana White in the aftermath of UFC 94.
White, as always, had plenty of interesting things to say.
He started out by saying that he wouldn't call Georges St. Pierre the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, even after St. Pierre's demolition of B.J. Penn. He said that he reserves the spot of top fighter in the world for Anderson "The Spider" Silva, but that a St. Pierre victory over Thiago Alves would put him on "his way".
White also said that if St. Pierre had beaten Matt Serra in their first match, then Silva and St. Pierre would be "neck and neck" for the title of the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
Many people will obviously be wondering where Fedor Emelianenko is in this list. White has called the Russian fighter "overrated" in the past, so you can't really be surprised that he omitted Fedor from this list. Besides, White is NEVER going to declare someone outside of his promotion as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world - there is just no way.
White also had several other pieces of information for fans, including:
-St. Pierre "has some work to do" before he takes on Anderson Silva
-B.J. Penn will "soon" defend against Kenny Florian in the lightweight division
-the UFC will have "Primetime" specials for three events per year
-White thinks that it's "unlikely" that Penn will move up to Welterweight again any time in the near future
