Could Fedor Be Involved In Main Event of UFC 100?

When Dana White announced that Georges St. Pierre would be defending his title against Thiago Alves at UFC 100, many people figured that this would be the main event, or at least the co-main event.

However, according to recent comments from the president of the UFC, this isn't the case.

White recently said that St. Pierre vs Alves would NOT be the main event of UFC 100, and that "UFC 100 is going to deliver, it's going to be good".

These comments have led to a great deal of speculation over the past few days.

Who could be involved in the main event of UFC 100?

So far, we know that two matches have been booked for the card - St. Pierre vs Alves, and Henderson vs Bisping.

B.J. Penn will likely be fighting at UFC 99, but he couldn't have been considered for the main event of UFC 100 anyways.

Names such as Brock Lesnar, Frank Mir, Anderson Silva and Chuck Liddell are already fighting in events over the next couple of months, and can't really be considered as possibilities for UFC 100.

This leaves a few possibilities for the main event of UFC 100.

Forrest Griffin? Certainly a name that the UFC would want to include in this event. Who could he fight though that would be worthy of the main event of UFC 100, and also make sense? Griffin vs Machida?

Assuming that "Rampage" gets by Jardine at UFC 96, could Evans vs Jackson be a possibility for UFC 100? This would certainly be a main event caliber card, and the two fighters would get around 4 1/2 months to train for the fight.

Another possibility that is being mentioned by a few notable columnists and commentators is Fedor Emelianenko. Could be a Fedor vs Couture fight be in the works for this card? I'll believe that when I see it - I'm just telling you what I've been hearing. That would certainly energize many people for UFC 100, however, we've all been down this road before. I'd obviously love to see this happen.
