Frank Mir vs Brock Lesnar II To Headline UFC 98
 |

Earlier this week, the UFC officially unveiled the details for UFC 98: "Lesnar vs Mir II".
The event will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 23rd. The main event of the card will feature Brock Lesnar vs Frank Mir in a UFC heavyweight title unification match.
Brock Lesnar currently holds the UFC heavyweight title after defeating former champion Randy Couture in the main event of UFC 91.
Frank Mir captured the interim heavyweight title after dominating Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 92.
The UFC introduced the interim heavyweight title during their legal battle with Randy Couture.
After Couture and the UFC resolved their issues, Dana White opted to leave the belt on Randy Couture. This situation created two different UFC heavyweight titles, and they will be unified on May 23rd.
This will be the second match between Lesnar and Mir. Mir won the first battle between the two, forcing Lesnar to tap in the first round of Lesnar's UFC debut. Brock Lesnar has been very vocal in his desire for a rematch, as Mir is the only blemish on his MMA record. Since the Mir fight, Lesnar has gone on to dominate both Heath Herring and Randy Couture, and is clearly a much better fighter now.
Having said that - Frank Mir is also a much better fighter as well, which is why this will be such an interesting match-up. Mir looked phenomenal in his fight against Nogueira, and appeared to be in the best shape of his life.
Matt Hughes and Matt Serra will finally be squaring off as well at UFC 98. These two were originally supposed to fight over a year ago, but Serra had to withdraw due to an injury. There is a great deal of hatred and animosity between these two, which should make for an excellent fight.
The main card is also expected to contain:
Frank Edgar vs Sean Sherk
Josh Koscheck vs Chris Wilson
Kyle Bradley vs Phillipe Nover
According to MMAJunkie.com, the undercard is tentatively looking like this:
David Kaplan vs George Roop
Pat Barry vs Tim Hague
Houston Alexander vs Andre Gusmao
Brandon Wolff vs Yoshiyuki Yoshida
James Irvin vs Drew McFedries
Should be another great card from the UFC.
