Ken Shamrock Suspended For Steroids Use
 |

Ken Shamrock, according to Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports, tested positive for three different types of anabolic steroids after a recent show in Fresno, California.
"The World's Most Dangerous Man" apparently tested positive for: 19-Norandrosterone, 19- Noretiocholanolone and Stanozolol.
Shamrock received a one year suspension from the California State Athletic Commission, meaning that he will be unable to fight a proposed match against Bobby Lashley on March 21st.
Shamrock received the one-year suspension and $2,500 fine following his first-round victory over Ross Clifton at the Wargods event last month.
This victory broke a five fight losing streak for Shamrock that included losses to Robert Berry and Rich Franklin. The victory over Clifton was supposed to set up "bigger" future matches against the likes of Lashley and "Tank" Abbott.
Instead, Shamrock faces an extremely uncertain future in the sport. Clearly he was not ready to walk away from fighting, despite being 45 years of age. As Iole points out, Shamrock will be nearly 46 years of age when he is cleared from his suspension and over a year removed from his last fight. Surely he'll hang up his gloves for good now?
I like Shamrock, and have been a fan of his for years now, but this is just getting sad. I hope that he decides to retire from the sport, for his own sake.
