Bobby Lashley Defeats Jason Guida Via Unanimous Decision

Bobby Lashley, who clearly has aspirations of following in Brock Lesnar's footsteps and becoming a huge star in the UFC, defeated Jason Guida on Saturday night in a decidedly boring performance.

Lashley defeated Jason Guida via unanimous decision to move to 2-0 in his professional mixed martial arts career.

Guida, who briefly appeared on the "Ultimate Fighter: Team Nogueira vs Team Mir" (but couldn't make weight for his fight), moved to 17-20 with the loss.

Bobby Lashley, who trains with American Top Team, defeated Joshua Franklin late last year in his MMA debut. He now adds an unimpressive victory over Jason Guida to his resume.

Lashley is an extremely large and imposing figure (6'3, 265 pounds, incredible physique), however he clearly has a great deal of work to do before he can call himself a legitimate mixed martial arts fighter.

Lashley was able to take Guida down during the fight, however this is about the only thing that he was able to do. Once on the ground, Lashley clearly had no what idea to do, and he was only able to land a couple of effective shots during the course of the fight.

Cardio is clearly a problem for Lashley as well, as he was noticeably gassing during multiple points in the fight.

It will be interesting to see how Lashley progresses from here. It is clear that he is an unbelievable physical specimen, however his skills as a mixed martial arts fighter are sorely lacking. Lashley has a long, long ways to go before he can even think about being considered for the UFC, which is undoubtedly his ultimate goal.
