Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira Now Set To Coach Opposite of Mauricio "Shogun" Rua

The fallout for Anderson "The Spider" Silva continued earlier today after it was announced that he would be replaced as a coach on the fourth season of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil by Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.

The UFC had seemed fine in letting Silva continue his coaching duties opposite of Mauricio "Shogun" Rua. The Nevada Athletic Commission, however, had other ideas. Following his positive test for multiple banned substances in an out-of-competition drug test that was taken on January 9th, the NAC elected to temporarily suspend Silva until a hearing has been held. The NAC believed that this suspension should extend to the filming of the fourth season of TUF Brazil, which is why Silva was pulled from the series. The UFC, in a press statement, said that Silva will now be able to devote his attention towards "the matter before the Commission".

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, who has coached on a couple of previous season of The Ultimate Fighter, has stepped in to take Silva's place opposite of Mauricio "Shogun" Rua. Nogueira and Rua will NOT be fighting, just as Silva and Rua were not expected to fight.

Over the past couple of days, Anderson Silva has seen his reputation crumble as he deals with the ramifications of a positive drug test. Silva was often viewed as the greatest mixed martial arts fighter of all time but now people are wondering just how many of his wins were tainted.

Can Silva rebuild his reputation? "The Spider" denies that he did any steroids - it will be interesting to hear what he has to say in a meeting with the NAC that is scheduled for later this month.

In the end, however, one thing is certain - we'll only be catching a brief glimpse of Silva on the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 4.
