Anthony "Rumble" Johnson destroyed Ryan Bader in the main event of this past weekend's UFC on Fox card, likely securing himself a second Light Heavyweight title shot in the process.

The UFC is expected to announce the Jon Jones vs Daniel Cormier rematch later this week, with the fight expected to take place at UFC 197 in April. Unless something unexpected happens (such as a controversial decision or finish), Anthony Johnson is expected to get the winner.

Anthony Johnson was originally slated to meet Jon Jones for the title in early 2014. Jones, however, was involved in a hit-and-run accident that resulted in him being suspended from the UFC. As part of the suspension, Jones was stripped of his Light Heavyweight title. As a result, Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson fought for the title, with Cormier winning via third round submission.

Jon Jones has indicated via his Twitter account that he expects to fight Anthony Johnson after he takes on Cormier. Jones, who obviously thinks that he will beat Cormier when they square off later this year, said that he expects to take on Anthony Johnson and Alexander Gustafsson before moving up to the Heavyweight division, which is where he expects to close out his career.

There was a time, not too long ago, when people expected that the UFC was going to make a title fight between Ryan Bader and Daniel Cormier. The two Light Heavyweights got involved in a verbal altercation at a UFC press conference, and it seemed as though the two had enough heat to justify a title fight.

The UFC, however, disagreed, likely believing that a Cormier/Bader fight wouldn't do much to electrify fans. Instead, the promotion elected to wait on the Jones/Cormier rematch, which will likely take place in a couple of months.

Ryan Bader now has to work his way back up the title ladder after getting extremely close to a title shot.
