Vera Defeats Igor Subora Via First Round Stoppage

Brandon "The Truth" Vera, who, at one time, was considered one of the hottest prospects in the UFC, won his ONE FC debut earlier tonight.

Vera recently parted ways with the UFC after a near-decade long run with the company. According to Vera, the two sides couldn't work out a new contract and Vera elected to move to ONE FC. Given his Filipino heritage, the move was a no-brainer for ONE FC given their penetration of the Asian market.

Vera, who has fought Jon Jones, Randy Couture and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua in the past, made his ONE FC debut against Igor Subora. Vera overwhelmed his opponent, notching an easy victory at 3:54 of the first round after stopping his opponent with soccer kicks and punches.

This was Vera's first victory since defeating Eliot Marshall at UFC 137 in October of 2011.

Brandon Vera seemingly has a new lease on life and seems to be ecstatic to be in ONE FC. Following his victory over Subora, Vera proclaimed that he was going to keep winning fights until he takes home the title.

Brandon Vera was a fairly polarizing figure while he was in the UFC. It is heart-warming, however, to see him find success in another promotion.
