"Greatness Within Reach" For Jon Jones on Saturday

UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon "Bones" Jones is within reach of two very important Light Heavyweight records on Saturday night.

First, Jones could break the record for most finishes in the Light Heavyweight division if he is able to knock out or submit Alexander Gustafsson when the two square off at UFC 165 on Saturday night.

Second, and more importantly, Jones is currently tied for the Light Heavyweight record for most successful title defenses with five. There is a reason why the UFC is using the tagline of "Greatness Within Reach" for UFC 165, as Jones stands to propel himself ahead of such Light Heavyweight legends as Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz with a successful title defense on Saturday night.

There has been some "criticism" that Jones has had a major physical advantage over his opponents up to this point due to his height and reach. The UFC was looking to silence that talk when they booked Jones to square off against Alexander Gustafsson on Saturday night. Gustafsson is taller than Jones and also has a very long reach.

Bookmakers aren't buying that this will be a competitive fight on Saturday night.

According to Bet365, Jon Jones is currently listed at 1.12 to win, while Alexander Gustafsson is listed at 6.50. This means that a successful $100 bet on Jones would return a total profit of $12, while a successful $100 wager on Gustafsson would return $550.
