Sonnen vs Evans a Possibility for UFC 167?

Chael Sonnen desperately wants to fight on the UFC 167 card.

Over the past few weeks, there have been rumors of Sonnen vs Wanderlei Silva (won't happen due to an injury to Silva), Sonnen vs Davis (talk of this potential fight seems to have died down in recent days) and now Sonnen vs Rashad Evans.

Chael Sonnen seems intent on doing his own match-making for the UFC 167 card, as he has now called out both Wanderlei Silva and Rashad Evans. UFC 167, which is to be headlined by Georges St. Pierre vs Johny Hendricks for the Welterweight title, is the promotion's 20th anniversary card. Seeing as how Sonnen almost certainly gets PPV points as part of his new contract, you can understand why he would want to get onto this card so badly. In addition, he is a great fighter to have in the co-main event slot.

Rashad Evans is not currently booked in a fight. Evans most recently defeated Dan Henderson at UFC 161 earlier in the year.

Chael Sonnen, on the other hand, is coming off of an impressive first round victory over Mauricio "Shogun" Rua.

There is no word yet as to whether this fight, if it's made, would take place at 185 pounds or 205 pounds.
