At UFC Fight Night: Hendricks vs Thompson this past weekend, Mickey Gall won his fight to move to 2-0 as a professional mixed martial arts fighter.

Even more importantly for the young fighter, however, was that he won the chance to square off against CM Punk, the former WWE superstar who elected to make the jump to mixed martial arts a few years ago.

The fight, which will pit the 0-0 CM Punk against the 2-0 Mickey Gall, is expected to take place on the main card of either UFC 199 or UFC 200 (you can be almost certain that it will end up being UFC 200). For the young Mickey Gall, fighting CM Punk will be the opportunity of a lifetime to make a name for himself in the world of mixed martial arts.

Following Mickey Gall's quick victory this past weekend, most people expected that he would be opening up as the favorite against CM Punk. These people proved to be correct as the opening odds for the fight look like this:

Mickey Gall, -300
CM Punk, +200

According to these odds, Mickey Gall has a 75.19% chance of winning the fight, while CM Punk has about a 30% chance of winning. A successful $300 wager on Mickey Gall would yield a total return of $100, while a successful $100 wager on CM Punk would return a total profit of $200.

CM Punk is currently training under the tutelage of Duke Rufus and has the benefit of sparring against fighters such as Anthony "Showtime" Pettis. Stepping into the Octagon is much different than sparring, however, and it will be interesting to see how Punk does in his first (and possibly only) fight.

Mickey Gall, on the other hand, will have to deal with fighting under the brightest of spotlights despite only having two professional fights under his belt. CM Punk has performed in front of tens of thousands of people as a member of the WWE, though he has never fought professionally.

This should be a very interesting fight - does Punk have what it takes to actually pull off the victory?
