Conor McGregor Expects Featherweight Champ To Miss Fight

The long awaited Featherweight title unification fight between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor is now just over a month away.

Aldo and McGregor, who have been feuding for well over a year now, are finally going to step into the Octagon and settle the score at UFC 194.

That is the plan, anyways. According to Conor McGregor, aka "Mystic Mac", the fight is not going to happen.

According to McGregor, Aldo is "beaten" and "broken" and will look for a way out of the December fight. McGregor and Aldo were supposed to fight earlier in the year - unfortunately for fight fans, Aldo had to pull out with a rib injury and Chad Mendes took his place. In the end, McGregor ended up knocking out Mendes in the second round to claim the interim title.

According to McGregor, Aldo will pull himself from the UFC 194 fight as well. The UFC has already dealt with this possibility, as they will be putting on Frankie Edgar vs Chad Mendes the same weekend. If Aldo or McGregor is forced to pull out of the fight, Frankie Edgar will likely be getting the nod instead.

Jose Aldo has been a phenomenally successful Featherweight champion, though he has been very prone to injury as well. The list of Jose Aldo title fights that have been scrapped is long, and Conor McGregor believes that the planned UFC 194 tilt will be added to the list.

There is a tremendous incentive for both men to show up to the fight, however - money. Aldo vs McGregor is going to be one of the biggest fights of the year, and both men will walk away with millions of dollars.

In addition, you would have to assume that the UFC would move to strip Jose Aldo of his title should he pull out of UFC 194. I don't believe that the UFC would take very kindly to Aldo pulling out of two fights in a row against Conor McGregor.

In the end, despite what "Mystic Mac" might think, I believe that the fight between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor will move forward as planned.
