Dana White Confirms That Promotion Will Put on Rousey/Holm Rematch Next

UFC President Dana White appeared on TSN's "Off The Record" earlier this week and confirmed what everybody already knew - a rematch between Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm will happen next in the promotion's Bantamweight division.

The UFC seems to have a long-standing policy of giving their long-reigning champions an immediate rematch in the event of a loss (see Anderson Silva). Ronda Rousey is going to be no different, as she has already been tagged for the next title shot, despite the fact that she just suffered a devastating loss last month.

Miesha Tate felt as though she deserved the next title shot, as she was promised a third shot at Ronda Rousey before the title shot was eventually given to Holly Holm instead. In the aftermath of the Rousey loss, Tate felt as though she was the clear favourite to receive the first shot at newly minted champion, Holly Holm. The UFC felt otherwise, however, and Tate will be left to ponder her future once again.

The simple fact of the matter is that the UFC has a massive money fight in Rousey/Holm 2. In fact, they are already planting the seeds for the rematch, recently stating that Rousey was "exhausted" in the lead-up to the first Holm fight. The narrative is already starting to become clear - Rousey was not prepared for the first fight and an entirely different Rousey will present herself when she steps into the Octagon against Holm.

As mentioned on this site before, the likely landing place for the Rousey vs Holm rematch is UFC 200 in July of 2016.
