Twitter Talk Seems To Imply That Cormier Will Be Defending Against Manuwa Next

Based on the Twitter trash talk between Daniel Cormier and Jimi Manuwa, it seem as though fans will need to wait a bit longer to get the much-anticipated rematch between Cormier and Jon "Bones" Jones.

Prior to Cormier successfully defending his Light Heavyweight title against Anthony Johnson at UFC 210, Jones said that he might take a fight against someone other than Cormier in order to get his "sea legs" back. After all, Jones has only fought once over the past couple of years, and that was an uneven performance against OSP.

In the aftermath of UFC 210, Daniel Cormier seemed to be setting up two separate fights - one against Manuwa and another against Jon Jones.

It seems as though we will be getting the Manuwa fight first, based on these recent Tweets:

Manuwa: "Sign the deal CHAMP !!!! stop all your commentator WWE shit. U trying to catch jones rusty. I give u 2 rounds with that big head."

Cormier: "I'm not trying to catch anything. Let's go! I wanna fight you! Jones needs to get his sea legs back. Where's the contract. This light work"

The King is leaning back in his office chair and scratching his beard. Who is Cormier fighting next?

It seems as though Jones is going to take a fight in the interim before eventually taking on Daniel Cormier for the title.

This is fraught with danger, however, as Jones and/or Cormier could lose their next fights, which would derail the massive money fight that is the Cormier/Jones rematch.

Taking the Cormier fight without a warm-up would certainly be dangerous to Jones' legacy, however, as the Jones that we saw against OSP could easily lose to Cormier.
