"Mighty Mouse" Has Ridiculous Edge Over Borg

The main event of UFC 215 on September 9th will feature a Flyweight title fight between Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson and Ray Borg.

The fight between Johnson and Borg was the source of much contention between the UFC and Johnson.

Johnson is looking to break the record for most all-time UFC title defences with a successful defence against Borg. Johnson wants to break the record before possibly moving up to take on the likes of Dominick Cruz or Cody Garbrandt.

The UFC, on the other hand, is fairly nonplussed about the division. The UFC had wanted TJ Dillashaw to drop down to take on Johnson, though "Mighty Mouse" balked at that idea, as he was worried that Dillashaw would miss weight. In addition, he felt as though Borg deserved the shot while Dillashaw didn't.

The negotiations between Johnson and the UFC got so heated, it was alleged, that Dana White reportedly told Johnson that he would shut the entire Flyweight division if "Mighty Mouse" didn't take the Dillashaw fight.

This obviously didn't end up happening, and now Johnson is set to defend his title against Ray Borg in the main event of UFC 215.

The fight between Johnson and Borg is a massive mismatch - there is no other way to put it.

Johnson has completely cleaned out the division, which means that he must look to names such as Ray Borg or Sergio Pettis for possible title defences.

Flyweight is thin division that has a dominant champion sitting at the top of it - this has made for a complete lack of interest from the public, which shows in the PPV buyrates for cards that Johnson is headlining.

Regardless, let's take a look at the betting odds for this fight:

Demetrious Johnson, -1165
Ray Borg, +750

These odds mean that a successful $1,165 wager on Johnson would yield a total profit of $100, while a successful $100 bet on Borg would return a total profit of $750.

That is a massive mismatch, especially in a UFC title fight.

You can pretty much bet the farm on Johnson in this one - in fact, you'll have to bet the farm in order to generate any kind of a meaningful return.
