UFC Fight Night 62 To Be Headlined By Maia vs LaFlare

UFC Fight Night 62, which is set to be headlined by a Welterweight tilt between Demian Maia and Ryan LaFlare, will be taking place at the Ginasio do Maracanazinho in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

This card has been absolutely destroyed by injuries - let's look at some of the original fights that were scheduled for this card:

Urijah Faber vs Raphael Assuncao
Matt Wiman vs Leonardo Santos
Josh Thomson vs Gilbert Burns
Ben Saunders vs Erick Silva

The main card now looks like this:

Demian Maia vs Ryan LaFlare
Erick Silva vs Josh Koscheck
Leonard Santos vs Tony Martin
Amanda Nunes vs Shayna Baszier
Gilbert Burns vs Alex Oliveira

Josh Koscheck took the fight against Erick Silva on short notice as he attempts to escape from a long four fight losing streak. In fact, it has been over three years since Koscheck last won a fight in the UFC.

Here are the odds for the five main card fights:

Demian Maia, +120
Ryan Laflare, -130

Erick Silva, -485
Josh Koscheck, +425

Leonardo Santos, +125
Tony Martin, -135

Amanda Nunes, -420
Shayna Baszier, +375

Alex Oliveira, +480
Gilbert Burns, -570

As you can see, there are two very close fights (Maia vs Laflare, Santos vs Martin) and three very lopsided fights.

One of the most interesting stories on this card is Josh Koscheck. Koscheck, who is 37 years of age, has lost four fights in a row. You would have to think that the UFC would seriously thinking about cutting the former Welterweight title contender with a fifth straight loss, so this may very well be Koscheck's last fight in the UFC.
