Potential of Violent Affair Has Fans Salivating

According to UFC President Dana White, "Ruthless" Robbie Lawler is texting him constantly, asking for a fight.

Donald Cerrone threw his cowboy hat into the ring, so to speak, earlier this week when he said that he would be interested in fighting Lawler at UFC 205 in New York. Cerrone is coming off of a destruction of Rick Story and just inked a new 8 fight deal with the UFC. In short, Cerrone is healthy and ready to start fighting out his new deal with the UFC.

Fans are positively salivating over the idea of a Cerrone/Lawler fight. Both men are absolute savages in the Octagon, and both men are known for their spectacular knockouts.

What better way for the UFC to start in the New York market than to have Donald Cerrone vs Robbie Lawler as the third or fourth fight on the UFC 205 card? There is practically no chance that the fight would disappoint - the only problem with putting the fight on UFC 205 is that fans wouldn't get five rounds from Cerrone/Lawler, though it seems highly doubtful that the fight would last that long anyways.

UFC 205 could potentially look like this, providing that everybody is healthy and willing to fight on the card:

Conor McGregor vs Eddie Alvarez (Lightweight Title)
Valentina Shevchenko vs Amanda Nunes (Women's Bantamweight title)
Donald Cerrone vs Robbie Lawler

Now, that would be a fantastic card to head into New York with. You would have the promotion's biggest star (Conor McGregor) fighting for a title, you would have a fantastic fight between Shevchenko and Nunes, plus you would have the incredible violence of a Cerrone vs Lawler fight.

The King is discussing the possibility of a Lawler vs. Cerrone fight at UFC 2015 in New York

Let's see which direction the UFC ends up going in, but I would be willing to bet that the top of the final card may end up looking something like this.
