Frankie Edgar and Urijah Faber To Battle at Featherweight

The UFC will be making its first ever trip to the Philippines this weekend when they host UFC Fight Night: Edgar vs Faber at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Philippines. This is a major event for the UFC, as it will be the first time that they will have ever hosted an actual card in the fight-crazy country. In previous years, superstars such as Georges St. Pierre have held public workouts in the Philippines, and these workouts have drawn tens of thousands of fans.

A Featherweight tilt between Frankie "The Answer" Edgar and Urijah Faber will be headlining the card. Edgar, who is the former Lightweight champion, is seen as having the advantage as Faber will be moving up to Featherweight in order to take the fight. In addition, Edgar is seen as having the perfect style (wrestling heavy, practically unlimited cardio) to give Faber fits.

There are a couple of other interesting fights that will be included on the main card. Here is how the main card looks as of this moment:

Frankie Edgar vs Urijah Faber
Gegard Mousasi vs Costas Philippou
Mark Munoz vs Luke Barnatt
Hyun Gyu Lim vs Neil Magny
Phillipe Nover vs Yui Chul Nam
Mark Eddiva vs Levan Makashvili

Gegard Mousasi is currently the #7 ranked fighter in the UFC's Light Heavyweight division and could move up a notch or two with a victory over Philippou.

Mark Munoz has revealed that his fight against Luke Barnatt will be the last of his career and he will be retiring after the fight.

Phillipe Nover, who was at one time touted as the "next Anderson Silva" by UFC President Dana White, will also be making his return to the promotion following a five year plus absence.

Frankie Edgar is currently a heavy -450 favourite to beat Faber on Saturday.
