The main event of the second day of the first Rizin Fighting Federation series will mark the return of Fedor Emelianenko to professional mixed martial arts competition.

Fedor, who last beat Pedro Rizzo in June of 2012, was lured out of retirement thanks to a lucrative offer from Rizin, which was founded by the same man who ran PRIDE, which was purchased by the UFC a number of years ago. There was some talk that Fedor might sign with the UFC, though he ended up going elsewhere because he thought that the offer from Dana White and company was too restrictive.

Fight fans are happy to see Fedor in action once again, though most people are particularly nonplussed with his opponent - Jaideep Singh. Singh, who has over 50 kickboxing fights under his belt, has only fought twice in his career in professional mixed martial arts matches. While Singh will surely be able to hold his own when it comes to striking, he will most certainly be in massive trouble if/when the fight goes to the floor. Fedor is a masterful grappler and you would have to think that the most likely outcome of this fight is a quick submission victory for Fedor.

According to the bookmakers, Fedor is a massive favourite to win. Here are the current betting odds:

Fedor Emelianenko, -1500
Jaideep Singh, +700

According to these odds, Fedor should win well over 90% of the time. It's mixed martial arts, which means that anything could happen, but you have to think that the only path to victory for Singh in this fight is some sort of flash knockout.

Fedor may or may not elect to continue his mixed martial arts career after this fight, and one can only hope that there is a significant step up in competition for the "Last Emperor" going forward.
