Frank Mir Angles For Trilogy Fights Against Brock Lesnar or Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira

Following his recent emphatic victory over Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva, Frank Mir called out two opponents that he has faced twice before - Brock Lesnar and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.

There have been rumors about Brock Lesnar's return to the UFC. After all, his deal with the WWE is set to expire next month and there have been rumblings that he is interested in a return to mixed martial arts. Brock Lesnar was sick for all of his post-UFC 100 run in the promotion and there is some thought that he would like to return to MMA now that he is fully healthy.

The flip side? Lesnar has been out of the UFC for a couple of years now and is not getting any younger. His contract with the WWE allows him to work a very limited schedule for a great deal of money (Lesnar is rumored to make $5 million/year from his deal).

Now, during his prime earning years with the UFC, Lesnar cleared more than $5 million per fight. As a matter of fact, his second fight against Mir at UFC 100 reportedly made Lesnar in excess of $10 million.

The PPV business, however, has weakened significantly since Lesnar left the promotion. In addition, the legend of Lesnar was shattered by the fists of Cain Velasquez and Alistair Overeem.

Having said that, Lesnar/Mir III would surely do solid business. After all, both men continue to dislike each other. Mir has constantly talked about Lesnar in the media since their second fight, which has surely not been lost on the 265 pound behemoth from Minnesota.

Mir/Lesnar III is an ideal fight for all parties IF Lesnar decides to return to the UFC. It's a winnable fight for Lesnar against a name opponent, plus there is a tremendous amount of history between the two.

Given Lesnar's age and time away from the Octagon, however, don't be surprised if he elects to remain with the WWE.
