Glover Teixeira Clobbers Rashad Evans in UFC on Fox Main Event

The main event of the latest UFC on Fox card was completely one-sided, with former Light Heavyweight #1 contender Glover Teixeira clobbering Rashad Evans inside of one round.

Rashad Evans, a former World Champion, had nothing to offer Teixeira over the course of the short fight. Teixeira found Evans' chin multiple times over the course of the fight, and the former champion wasn't able to cope with the onslaught from Glover. Teixeira eventually finished off Evans and then turned his attention to Anthony "Rumble" Johnson.

In his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, Teixeira said that he wanted to fight Johnson next. The fight makes a great deal of sense, as the planned fight between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier is likely months away, assuming, of course, that Jones beats OSP next week. Anthony Johnson and Glover Teixeira locking horns in the meantime would make a great deal of sense, as the winner would be the clear #1 contender once Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones finally settle their score later in the year.

Anthony Johnson, who was in attendance tonight, was smiling after the Teixeira call-out. Whether or not that means that he would be down to fight Teixeira is a different story, though it would be hard to imagine Johnson turning the fight down.

Glover Teixeira seemed to be losing momentum but has since turned things around and is now likely one fight away from another shot at the Light Heavyweight title.

Rashad Evans, on the other hand, has to come to terms with the fact that his best days are behind him. Will we see Evans in the Octagon again, or will he choose to focus on his blossoming career as a commentator?
