The fight that MMA fans have been waiting almost a year to see will finally be taking place this weekend as Jon "Bones" Jones attempts to defend his Light Heavyweight title against Daniel Cormier.

Many people agree that Daniel Cormier will present the stiffest test of Jon Jones' career and the bookmakers are definitely onboard with that theory. Jones heads into the UFC 182 main event as a -175 favourite, while Daniel Cormier is a +145 underdog.

According to these odds, Jones should win the fight 63.69% of the time. Compare these odds to when he faced off against Chael Sonnen, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson or even Lyoto Machida and you will see that Cormier is being seen as a MUCH stiffer challenge for the champion. After all, Cormier is no slouch - he's beaten Frank Mir and Dan Henderson, just to name a few.

The intrigue over the fight has been heightened by the similarity in the two men's skill sets. Jones, who has always been regarded as a tremendous wrestler, will be going up against one of the best wrestlers in the UFC right now, if not THE best. Daniel Cormier is a former Olympic wrestler who has been able to take opponents down at will over the course of his MMA career. Not only will Jones have to watch out for the Cormier takedowns but he'll also have a very hard time taking the challenger down.

This fight is likely to come down to striking. Both men possess knockout power and both men have tremendous chins. Jones is seen as the more dynamic striker though Cormier is seen as possessing more power.

Another "X factor"? Cardio. If the fight reaches the championship rounds, how will Cormier's body hold up? Cormier has fought into the championship rounds once before (2012 victory over Josh Barnett) while Jon Jones has fought into the championship rounds a total of five times.

This fight should be an epic battle and I can't wait to see it.
