Lesnar vs Hunt To Serve as New Main Event

The best-laid plans of the UFC went awry earlier tonight following the shocking news that interim Light Heavyweight champion Jon "Bones" Jones had been pulled from UFC 200 due to a drug test failure.

Word of the failure came in earlier this evening, sending shock waves throughout the MMA world. The UFC held a press conference in which Dana White announced that Jones had failed a USADA-administered test in June and had been pulled from UFC 200. While all fighters get the chance to re-test the results, Jones wouldn't have had the time to do so before Saturday.

Dana White revealed that Jones had been pulled from the card and that Brock Lesnar vs Mark Hunt was the new main event. This fight will still be three rounds.

White also revealed that the promotion was looking at offering Cormier another fight, but would only do so if the fight made sense and was compelling.

Gegard Mousasi, who is scheduled to fight on the undercard, offered to fight Cormier for the title in a five found affair. Mousasi was the former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight champion and would certain be a compelling replacement for Jones.

In a bit of delicious irony, Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz are scheduled to be in Las Vegas tomorrow for a press conference to promote UFC 202 in August. McGregor/Diaz was the original main event for UFC 200 before the fight was pulled due to McGregor not wanting to participate in promotional work.

The King is unimpressed with the news he is receiving about UFC 200 and Jon Jones

A few more notes:

-Dana White revealed that Jones may be suspended for two years as a result of the failure

-Jones is expected to address the media later today
