Vanzant, McGregor, Aldo Headline Three Nights of Shows for Promotion

The UFC bounced back in a big way in 2015, putting on a number of very big shows and cards en route to posting one of their biggest yearly profits ever (this according to various ratings agencies).

The UFC is not slowing down at the end of the year - instead, they are putting on three shows on three straight days to end 2015 with a bang.

The three shows will feature a mix of the promotion's biggest current and future stars, including Conor McGregor, Paige VanZant and Sage Northcutt. McGregor is the present, as he has quickly become one of the promotion's biggest stars, while Vanzant and Northcutt could be the box office draws of the future.

One of the most alluring things about this stretch of cards is that they all feature some fights that should be extremely competitive.

Let's look at the fights that are headlining this slate of cards:

Rose Namajunas v Paige VanZant
Frankie Edgar v Chad Mendes
Conor McGregor v Jose Aldo

There are certainly no squash matches amongst the three, and the co-main event of UFC 194, Chris Weidman v Luke Rockhold, is certainly no different, as Rockhold is the clear #1 contender for Weidman's title and should give the champion a fantastic fight.

All of these fights have title implications as well - the winner of Namajunas v VanZant will definitely be able to ask for a title shot, while the winner of Edgar v Mendes should almost certainly get the next shot at the Featherweight title, unless something completely unexpected happens in the McGregor v Aldo fight.

Fans are in for an absolute treat this weekend - I can't wait.
