An ankle injury has forced the UFC to scrap the proposed main event of the UFC Fight Night card on November 21st.

Matt Brown and Kelvin Gastelum were poised to square off in the main event in what was intended to be a Welterweight fight with potential title shot implications. Brown, however, suffered an ankle injury during training and was forced to pull himself out of the fight.

The UFC has not named a replacement for Brown as of yet.

Matt Brown, who is currently the #5 ranked fighter in the Welterweight division, was looking to build off of a recent win over Tim Means at UFC 189. Prior to that, Brown had dropped two fights in a row, though the losses had come against Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler.

Kelvin Gastelum, on the other hand, is 11-1-1 over the course of his professional career and has amassed an impressive 6-1 record in the UFC. Gastelum has notched wins over Nate Marquardt, Jake Ellenberger and Rick Story, while his lone loss came against Tyron Woodley in a split decision.

The Ultimate Fighter Latin America 2 Finale, which was originally supposed to be headlined by Brown vs Gastelum, now looks like this:

Ricardo Lamas vs Diego Sanchez
Efrain Escudero vs Leandro Silva
Jussier Formiga vs Henry Cejudo
Erik Perez vs Taylor Lapilus
Hector Urbina vs Bartosz Fabinski
Scott Jorgensen vs Alejandro Perez
Gabriel Benitez vs Andre Fili
Valmir Lazaro vs Michel Prazares

Whoever decides to step in and fight Gastelum will have a very tough fight as their hands, as Gastelum is one of the very best in the Welterweight division.
