Mauricio Rua Says That He Wouldn't Turn Down Silva Fight

Mauricio "Shogun" Rua is set to square off against Ovince St. Preux in the main event of UFC Fight Night 56 this weekend in Brazil.

It's safe to say that Rua may be looking past this fight as he has already agreed to coach the fourth season of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil in 2015 opposite of Anderson "The Spider" Silva. Thanks to the inclusion of both Rua and Silva as coaches, the show should generate some massive fanfare in Brazil.

In most cases, the two coaches of The Ultimate Fighter end up fighting each other at the end of the season. The UFC veered from this policy with the fourth season of TUF: Brazil, as they stated upfront that Rua and Anderson Silva would NOT be fighting each other.

According to "Shogun", however, if the UFC wanted him to fight against Anderson Silva, the former Light Heavyweight champion wouldn't turn it down, despite the fact that the two used to be training partners.

"Shogun" has one condition for a potential fight against Silva, however - it would have to take place at 205 pounds.

Would the UFC ever want to put on a fight between Silva and "Shogun"? Would Silva want the fight? Would Silva be willing to jump up to 205 pounds again?

This all depends on whether or not Anderson Silva is seriously considering another run at the Middleweight title or if he would simply be content to be involved in "big" fights that don't have any real title implications (such as the planned UFC 183 tilt against Diaz).

Rua vs Anderson Silva would certainly draw a great deal of interest in Brazil, which is why you know that the UFC has to be at least considering it.
