Diaz Vaults Up Lightweight Ladder With Impressive Win of Gray Maynard

Nate Diaz emphatically beat Gray Maynard in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter on Saturday night, knocking out the "Bully" in the first round.

Maynard was only competitive for the first few seconds of the fight - after Diaz landed a nice toss on Maynard, he ramped up the offense and finished the "Bully" a short while later. Diaz landed blow after blow on a dazed Maynard until the referee finally stepped in to stop the fight. Many people felt as though the fight was stopped too late, as Maynard was essentially out on his fight, but that's another article for another day.

With his impressive victory, Nate Diaz will vault up the Lightweight ladder.

Prior to tonight's fight, Diaz was the #8 ranked Lightweight in the UFC. Following tonight's fight, he should jump to #4 or #5.

Gray Maynard, on the other hand, may fall out of the top ten. This is quite the drop-off for Maynard, considering that he was a hair away from winning the Lightweight title from Frankie Edgar.
