On January 31st, 2015, Anderson "The Spider" Silva will make his return to the Octagon against none other than Nick Diaz. Silva vs Diaz is expected to headline UFC 183, which is the UFC's Super Bowl weekend card.

Now, this story is big for a number of reasons.

Anderson Silva will be making his first trip back to the Octagon since shattering his leg in his second fight against Chris Weidman. There were concerns that Silva would not be able to make it back to the Octagon, but those concerns have obviously been allayed.

In addition, Nick Diaz will be making his first trip back to the Octagon since dropping a Welterweight title fight to Georges St. Pierre in 2013. After the fight, Diaz stated that he was retired, but the UFC was able to lure him back into the fold with a new three fight deal.

After signing his new deal with the UFC, Diaz stated that he was only interested in big fights. Well, Diaz got his wish, as it doesn't get any bigger than Silva vs Diaz on Super Bowl weekend.

Dana White, basking in the glow of the fight announcement, revealed that both men would likely be considered for a title shot with a victory in January.

A Diaz vs Silva fight is going to be tailor made for the fans. Can you imagine the taunting that will occur? The number of strikes that will be thrown? This is going to be a spectacle to behold.
