As mentioned earlier on this site, the upcoming battle between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones for the Light Heavyweight title is extremely close on paper, at least in the eyes of the oddsmakers.

Sure, champion Jon Jones is a favourite to win but the odds are much tighter than in his previous title defenses against the likes of Lyoto Machida, Chael Sonnen or Vitor Belfort. Cormier, the former Strikeforce Heavyweight champion, is expected to give Jones everything that he can handle on Saturday night in the main event of UFC 182.

According to the oddsmakers, the fight between Daniel Cormier and Jones is expected to last far into the championship rounds, as evidenced by the Total Rounds Over/Under odds. Here they are as of this moment:

Total Rounds

Over 4.5 Rounds, 1.90
Under 4.5 Rounds, 1.90

One of the biggest questions heading into Saturday night is how Daniel Cormier's cardio will hold up if the fight heads into the championship rounds. Cormier has only waded into those deep waters once in his career, while Jones has had multiple tilts last five rounds. Olympic wrestlers are known for their incredible cardio, so don't be surprised if Cormier holds up fine if the fight goes the distance.

Here are the Round Betting odds for Saturday's fight:

Daniel Cormier to Win in Round 1, 13.00
Daniel Cormier to Win in Round 2, 17.00
Daniel Cormier to Win in Round 3, 19.00

Jon Jones to Win in Round 3, 13.00
Jon Jones to Win in Round 4, 17.00
Jon Jones to Win in Round 5, 21.00

Oddsmakers believe that there is an excellent chance that the fight between Jones and Cormier goes the distance. Both men have promised violence on Saturday night, so it will be interesting to see what ends up happening.
