Frank Mir Has Stated His Desire to Welcome Lesnar Back To UFC

According to reports, the UFC may be looking at the possibility of hosting a rubber match between Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir in Madison Square Garden in New York later this year.

Now, a tremendous amount of pieces would need to fall into place for this to happen, including:

1) The UFC would need to sign Lesnar. It's common knowledge now that Lesnar and the WWE (his current employer) are not on the best of terms. Lesnar's contract with WWE expires at the end of March and he was recently spotted talking to Dana White at UFC 184 in Los Angeles. There are some who believe a Lesnar return to the UFC is all but a lock now, while others think that Lesnar may just be trying to play the UFC and WWE off of one another in order to garner a better deal. One thing is for sure, however, and that is the UFC will be trying their hardest to ink the former Heavyweight champion to a deal when his contract with the WWE expires.

2) Professional mixed martial arts would have to be legalized in New York. The wheels are in motion regarding this, though nothing has been finalized as of yet.

The UFC has long stated their desire to host a show in Madison Square Garden and who better to main event the show than Brock Lesnar? In addition, Frank Mir would be the perfect person to pair Lesnar against, as:

1) The two have tremendous history

2) The two legitimately dislike each other

3) Frank Mir is a winnable fight for Lesnar

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
