Lawler vs Condit Set For November 14th

Earlier this week, the UFC officially revealed that "Ruthless" Robbie Lawler will be making his next Welterweight title defense against Carlos "The Natural Born Killer" Condit at UFC 193 on November 14th.

UFC 193 will be taking place at a yet to be determined location in Melbourne, Australia. The inclusion of the Welterweight title fight is historic as it will mark the first ever time that a UFC title has ever been defended in Australia. This speaks to the growing importance of the Australian market to the UFC.

There were rumors that UFC 194 (which is rumored to be taking place in Calgary, Alberta, Canada) was going to be hosting this fight, but the UFC obviously ended up going in another direction.

Robbie Lawler is coming off of one of the most ferocious fights in the history of the UFC. Lawler defended his title against Rory MacDonald in a five-round slugfest at UFC 189 this past month - the two men battered and bruised each other over the course of the 4+ round fight before Lawler finally finished MacDonald with a punch to the nose.

Carlos Condit, on the other hand, recently returned to action following a long rehab after he blew out his knee while fighting against Tyron Woodley. In his return fight, Condit stopped former Welterweight title contender Thiago Alves via doctor stoppage. Condit, who is one of the most exciting fighters in the Welterweight division, ended up moving ahead of Johny Hendricks to earn himself a shot at the title.

Carlos Condit vs Robbie Lawler promises to be an exciting and bloody fight. Both fighters absolutely bring it, both fighters love blood and both fighters have iron chins. What a way to return to Australia.

There haven't been any other fights officially announced for UFC 193 as of yet, though both Mark Hunt and Michael Bisping are expected to be on the card.
