Rousey's Star Continues To Grow With Wrestlemania Appearance

If you had any doubt that Ronda Rousey is a mega-star, look no further than her appearance at Wrestlemania 31 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Ronda Rousey, who is the current UFC Women's Bantamweight champion and will soon be appearing in "Furious 7", was brought into an angle involving "The Rock", "Triple H" and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley. Rousey, who was sitting ringside, ended up judo tossing Triple H and attempting to put Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley into an armbar. The crowd ate up every bit of Rousey's appearance and it was clear that practically everybody in the stadium knew exactly who she was.

It surprised practically everyone to see Rousey make an appearance at the event. Rousey, who is clearly one of Dana White's favourite employees, is under contract to the UFC and Dana White has previously been loathe to "blur the lines" between MMA and professional wrestling. In addition, the UFC and WWE have always been on competitive terms, with Vince McMahon even going as far as to challenge Dana White to a fight in the past (Dana White, however, has gone on the record as saying that he and McMahon are friends that frequently have lunch together).

It is clear that Rousey used her pull to get Dana White's permission to participate in Wrestlemania. It wasn't just an appearance - Rousey was physically involved as well, which makes White's OK of the appearance even more surprising. The more you think about it, however, the more it makes sense, as Rousey will now have even more name recognition after her appearance at Wrestlemania, and the UFC will make even more money from her upcoming PPV appearances.

Dana White posted on Twitter that he was watching WrestleMania at 3 am local time in London. Not really a surprise, as he is likely counting all of the extra money that he is going to make as a result of her appearance at the show.
