UFC 182: Jones vs Cormier received its co-main event earlier in the week after the UFC announced that "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey would be defending her Women's Bantamweight title against Cat Zingano on the card. The fight announcement was not a surprise as Rousey had been lobbying to be included on the card.

Unsurprisingly, Ronda Rousey has opened as a massive favourite to win, despite the fact that Zingano is likely going to be the toughest challenge of her career. Here are the current betting odds:

Ronda Rousey, -750
Cat Zingano, +475

So, according to these odds, a successful $750 wager on Rousey would return a total profit of $100, while a successful $100 wager on Zingano would return a total profit of $475.

Cat Zingano recently returned from a long layoff and defeated Amanda Nunes in the third round of their fight. The fight was a back and forth affair that saw Zingano finally gain the upper hand in the final round. Zingano battled ring rust over the course of the fight, as she had been out of action for 18 months due to a severe knee injury.

Zingano had originally earned a shot at Ronda Rousey after beating Miesha Tate at the Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale, but Tate ended up getting the shot (and the spot coaching opposite of Rousey) after Zingano was forced to pull out due to her injury.

Ronda Rousey has compiled a record of 10-0-0 over the course of her career, with all 10 fights resulting in finishes. Only one of Rousey's 10 fights have lasted more than a round (the only exception was the Miesha Tate rematch which went into the third round) and eight have ended via armbar submission. The rest of the Women's Bantamweight division has looked on in discomfort as Rousey has finished her last two fights via knockout. Rousey is known as a submission specialist but has added a solid striking game to her repertoire over the past couple of years.

Cat Zingano has quite a compelling story and possesses an incredible heart. This has the potential to be a great fight.
