Rousey To Defend Women's Bantamweight Title in Co-Main Event

It won't be Gina Carano or Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino next for "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey. Instead, the Women's Bantamweight champion will next be defending her title against Alexis Davis in the co-main event of UFC 175 on July 5th in Las Vegas.

Alexis "Ally-Gator" Davis currently has a 16-5-0 record as a professional mixed martial arts fighter and has won all three of her fights in the UFC (Jessica Eye, Liz Carmouche, Rosi Sexton).

You can safely assume that Ronda Rousey will be a MASSIVE favorite to beat Davis on July 5th. Davis' striking is seen to be sub-standard but she is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a Canadian Open grappling champion, so she may be able to pose some problems for Rousey if the fight gets to the ground.

UFC 175: Weidman vs Machida is looking absolutely stacked at this point. Here are the fights that have been announced or rumored for this card:

Chris Weidman vs Lyoto Machida
Ronda Rousey vs Alexis Davis
Chael Sonnen vs Wanderlei Silva
Dan Henderson vs Daniel Cormier
Uriah Hall vs Thiago Santos

Chris Weidman is currently recovering from knee surgery so there is always the possibility that the Machida/Weidman fight gets bumped back once again. If that happens, the UFC can easily bump Rousey/Davis to the main event and still have a packed card.

The 4th of July weekend card is always one of the biggest for the UFC and this year is proving to be no exception.
