Rousey To Defend Her Title Against Miesha Tate on December 28th

According to a press release circulated earlier today, "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey will be defending her Women's Bantamweight title against Miesha Tate at UFC 168. UFC 168 is set to take place on December 28th in Las Vegas, and Rousey/Tate II will very likely be the main event.

Rousey and Tate are currently coaching opposite one another on the current season of "The Ultimate Fighter". Rousey was originally slated to coach against Cat Zingano, but Zingano tore up her knee and was forced to pull out of the coaching gig and title fight. Miesha Tate, who lost to Zingano in devastating fashion, was given the shot instead. The UFC wasn't too disappointed about this turn of events, as Rousey and Tate legitimately despise each other, and there should be some legitimate hatred when the two step into the Octagon in December.

Rousey and Tate have fought once before, as Rousey won the Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Championship from Tate in March of 2012. The fight ended as every Ronda Rousey fight has ended - via first-round arm bar.

In Tate's defence, she almost lasted an entire round against Rousey, which is something that no other fighter has been able to do. Having said that, there are not many people that are giving Tate much of a chance of beating Rousey in December. The odds for this fight haven't been released as of yet, but you can safely assume that Rousey will be a massive favorite to win.
