Nelson vs Nogueira Set For April 11th

The UFC announced earlier today that Roy "Big Country" Nelson will square off against Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in the main event of UFC Fight Night 39 on April 11th. The card will mark the promotions return to Abu Dhabi - the last time that the UFC was there was for the now infamous UFC 112 card that featured Anderson Silva vs Demian Maia in one of the strangest fights of all time.

Nelson vs Nogueira will feature two of the Heavyweight division's best grapplers. Looks can be deceiving with Roy Nelson, as he is actually a very skilled grappler who has his black belt in BJJ. Nogueira, on the other hand, is one of the very best grapplers in the UFC.

Roy Nelson is looking to rebound from a two fight winning streak (Stipe Miocic, Daniel Cormier). Prior to the Stipe Miocic fight, Nelson was approaching the point of being considered a legitimate contender for the Heavyweight title. Can he go on another streak at the age of 37 years old?

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, on the other hand, will look to rebound following a submission loss to Fabricio Werdum in June of 2013. Nogueira is 3-4 over his last 7 fights and will be looking to get back on the winning side of things at UFC Fight Night 39.

It will be interesting to see how the heat effects both Nelson and Nogueira. This fight will headline the card, which means that it will be a five-rounder.
