Has The UFC Already Inked "The Last Emperor" To a Deal?

According to multiple unconfirmed media reports, the UFC has already signed Fedor "The Last Emperor" Emelianenko to a contract. It should be noted, of course, that this is strictly a rumor and should be treated as such.

Fedor has been training for a return to mixed martial arts after a prolonged absence. Fedor announced that his retirement was ending earlier this year and that he was actively training for a comeback.

The animosity that existed between Fedor and the UFC in the past seems to have melted away, as both sides seem amiable to Emelianenko finally making his long-awaited debut in the UFC. The two sides have negotiated before and nothing ever materialized.

There was some thought that Fedor would likely end up in Bellator thanks to his strong relationship with Scott Coker. The problem with that theory, however, is that there isn't much in the way of Heavyweight talent in Bellator. Fedor may be looking to cement his legacy by finally entering the UFC, where he could engage in fights with Fabricio Werdum, Cain Velasquez, Frank Mir and many others.

There is a rumor circulating that the UFC may be waiting for one of their numbered events to announce the signing of Emelianenko. The current rumor is that the announcement will take place at UFC 191: Dodson vs Johnson 2. This card would likely make the most sense, as the card is lacking any superstar drawing power and would likely benefit from the Fedor signing announcement. In addition, there is always the likelihood that the winner of Arlovski vs Mir, which is taking place at UFC 191, will be taking on Fedor if "The Last Emperor" is, in fact, signed by the UFC.

Let's hope that these rumors are true.
