Is This The End for Bisping as a Title Contender?

Tim Kennedy topped Michael Bisping in the main event of the TUF Nations: Finale earlier tonight to move to 3-0 in the UFC.

This was Tim Kennedy's biggest win in the UFC and he will likely move into the title picture as a result. Michael "The Count" Bisping, on the other hand, has likely seen the last of his days as a bonafide Middleweight title contender.

Michael Bisping has been tantalizingly close to a title shot in the past but has never won that one big fight that would have given him a title shot. At UFC 100, Bisping was knocked out by Dan Henderson - that loss cost Bisping a shot at the title. Later in his career, Bisping was in another #1 contender eliminator fight, only to lose to Chael Sonnen via unanimous decision.

With this loss, Bisping moves down the title ladder and will likely never be a serious contender for the title. Age seems to be catching up to Bisping and it's hard to imagine him putting together another run of 3 or 4 straight wins.

Kennedy and Bisping were talking plenty of trash heading into tonight's fight. Bisping was saying that he was going to destroy Kennedy, while Kennedy was content just to sit back and laugh.

In the end, Kennedy's strong ground game was the difference in this fight, as he was able to take Bisping to the ground and hold him there for a substantial period of time. This is no easy task as Bisping is notoriously tough to keep on the ground.

Kennedy fought a solid workmanlife performance, while Bisping underwhelmed.

All in all, this was a pretty entertaining card that sets up some pretty interesting matches for the future.
